Music Maker JAM for iOS and Android. The app gives students a whole studio at their fingertips. To start their musical score, students can choose from 15 free style packs, including hip-hop, rock, pop, funk, drum and bass, and techno; or they can select from more than 180 style packs in the in-app store. Then they can use different instruments and audio effects in the app to build their songs. Once students have created their beat, the app automatically turns their selections into an audio loop. From there, students can record their creation, add vocals, and save and share their songs. They can also explore the work of other music makers in the Music Maker Jam community. Cost: Free app with choice of 15 free style packs; other packs start at $0.99.
APP WITH MOVEMENT AND MINDFULNESS VIDEOS FOR CHILDREN GoNoodle Kids is packed with videos to get children moving—running, jumping, dancing, stretching—while learning along the way. The videos are relatively short (between three and five minutes) and feature both live-action and animated elements. Some videos incorporate lessons on the fundamentals of arithmetic. “Hollabaloo,” for example, on the Blazer Fresh Channel, has children forming the “less than,” “greater than,” and “equal to” signs with their arms as they exercise. GoNoodle isn’t entirely academic, though. The “Go Bonkers” section is all about releasing energy, while the “Chillax Dude” section encourages children to reach for the sky and inhale deeply. Also an app, for iOS and Android devices
Yousician is a very good app to help students learn to play piano, guitar, bass or ukulele.
